The time is drawing near and I figure I should get a hospital bag ready to go. I know you all have your own special things that you brought to help you along besides the normal things. I would like to know what those are! I'm not to experienced in this area and could use your guidance . To be honest I really don't know what all to bring besides:
-Clothes to come home in
-Toiletries (do I really need my own shower stuff or just teeth stuff?)
-Robe, PJ's (?), socks
-Camera
-Pads (do I need these for the hospital or just when I am home)
-Baby outfit
-Diapers (do I need to bring my own or just use the hospitals)
-Snacks/suckers
Well that is about all I could come up with. I could really use all your womanly knowledge about this topic. I actually feel king of silly asking this. I feel like I should know what to bring to the hospital! Anyway,
Thanks a bunch!
Also...For all my Bakersfield's peeps all is going well here in Sacramento. We are all settled in and looking for work. Well I'm not, Tucker is. If you know anyone who is hiring up this direction now would be a good time to speak up! We are enjoying the cool evenings, sponsored by the delta breeze. Ohh what a wonderful thing! It seems a little odd to be back here but its becoming better. The baby is moving right a long, 4 weeks to go! My doctor here is a little odd, he is definitely no Dr. Owens but will have to do for 4 more weeks. Smalls has made the adjustment very well. It took her a little while to get used to the hardwood floors, not to much traction. For the first few days she wouldn't come off her blanket that we put on the floor for her.
Anyway, that is a lot of rambling. I miss you all and I will keep updating my blog. So make sure you take a look and more importantly leave me a comment! I know I'm not the best at leaving them, I just like to look. But if you leave one, I will try to leave one for you to :) Also, I will be putting up some pictures of our new place. Probably today, my sister has been harassing me to get some up so she can see the new place. So it might be today, once the sun comes up a little bit more. I've been up since 6am, if you can believe that!

The hospital should have diapers.
As for my favorite items to take along, I liked See's suckers, a baby name book, and lip balm. For various reasons, I have never actually enjoyed the suckers while in labor. However, they were tasty during recovery. The lip stuff is good to have handy.
As for the baby name book, well... we went to the hospital with a name for G-Force and still ended up needing the book.
Happy packing!
I would take a pair of nursing pajamas. If I still had mine I would give it to ya. It was so nice to be able to stay in my pj's till I went home, and to be able to nurse at the same time. Then I would change my clothes to go home. Oh, and don't forget a good nursing bra. Still wear home comfy clothes. NO jeans yet. Those pads are super bulky. Lip balm is a great idea since they will only give you ice chips for a drink, so your lips will get parched. Definitely bring a robe in case you're delivering in a hospital where you have to share a room, or walk down the hall for a shower. I think I only took advantage of the shower for one of my kids. I tried to get out of the hospital at my earliest convenience!! So I would bring just your toothbrush and paste cause they have all the other stuff. Plus, the hospital always gave me LOTS of industrial strength pads that I wore religiously for days to come. I even asked my nurses to stock me up on them before I went home. Also, if they don't give you some, when you get home have Tucker buy you some Tucks medicated hemorrhoid pads to put on top of the pad. I know, sounds weird, but it helps in pain relief if you end up with stitches. I LOVE THESE. Hopefully they'll provide you with this cool plastic squeegy bottle to aid in feeling fresh after you change a pad. I LOVED THOSE!!! And definitely bring a camera. We forgot one with Brittnee and the nurse ended up having to take some using a polaroid. How sad is that! Hope this helps. Oh, and don't forget to get a perscription for heavy duty ibuprofen. That is definitely a must.
Oh I don't know. hehe I had to pack for 5 wks of hospital stay. ;) I remember not being able to wear my own cloths for a while. I used hospital pj bottoms. But bring maternity cloths to come home in. I think I took my own shampoo, since I was there for a while, so don't know if they offer it. ;) Not much help am I. I had CSection so no stitches down below. hehe but drugs are good. Yes on cloths for baby. They have diapers there. luv ya wish I would be there for the birth. You will do great.
Ha ha.. I wish I had something helpful to add seeing as I love to have an answer to any question but I can barely remember what we had with us and I am pretty sure I didn't use much of anything.. don't bring a fitted shirt. I remember I had packed some cotton tight maternity shirt but ended up wearing Trevor's jacket home because when your carrying the baby on the outside you're just not as proud to look like it is still on the inside! I also wished we had brought a small cd player or something so I could listen to music during labor.. that's all I remember.. where you having this precious bundle of joy anyway???
Oh, with our first baby I also had packed a deck of playing cards and magazines. Since I had the most beautiful of drugs (mmm... epidural) during that delivery I had the concentration to read. We also played hearts during the entire labor... very fun!
