This is the largest fire to burn in this area. It has burned 22,833 acres and burned 50 homes and damaged 12 homes. There were 9000 people evacuated from the Paradise. My poor little town was almost burned down but was surpassed. Here are some pictures that I stole from the local newspapers website.
This picture is looking down to the fire from Paradise. Looks pretty close! They say its 35% contained and should be pretty much wrapped up by monday. At least my moms house didn't burn down. Although I think she probably could have got more from her insurance if the fire burned down then she would have from selling it.There is a good map of where the fire burned. Freaky right? I kept thinking, "It's gotta be okay, it has been everytime, but maybe THIS time it won't be." Luckily her house is fine, but I agree with you on the fire insurance thing! It's a sad state of affairs we're in right now.
That looks so scary! I'm glad your mom and her house are both safe.
